The term “branding” can be an intimidating wordAs actors, we are often discouraged from embracing our individuality; we’re told that playing stereotypes is acceptable and a necessary part of the process in building our careers.  This pressure to conform is felt especially deeply by artists of color for whom opportunities can be scarce, and who encounter bias in casting more prevalently.

Knowing your “brand” means knowing yourself and being unwavering in the types of people you choose to represent throughout your career as an artist.  Branding is often overlooked in acting, yet I believe it is one of the most essential tools for any actor to have.  The more you embrace who you are and realize what you truly bring into the room, the more you empower yourself to shape your own destiny as a performer.

what you will learn

During branding sessions and classes, we use a variety of activities, assignments and on-camera exercises that will help you explore the depth of your individuality and guide you as you apply your discoveries to your acting career.  You will be advised on matters such as selecting the right headshots and/or headshot photographer, creating your acting reels and building your online presence.  Together, we will create business and marketing strategies that are unique to you and your personal needs as an actor.
